In line with the Tanjung Enim Tourism City program, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) encourages Millennials and Gen Z around the company to be more active in discovering and exploring tourism potential by promoting it on social media.

At the ENIM MUDA event, PTBA organized a workshop to explore Creative Multi Cultural Content in Tanjung Enim. This event took place at the KBL Multipurpose Building on Saturday, May 20, 2023. There were hundreds of participants, including social media activists, cultural practitioner, and local artists.

There were two speakers from Palembang, namely Mang Dayat as an observer of historical culture and Content Creator, and Bro Juju as a Selebgram and Content Creator, to inspire and guide Tanjung Enim's young people to become professional Selebgram and Content Creators.

Yuhendri Wisra, the Tanjung Enim Tourism City Team's Coordinator for Culture and Local Wisdom, stated his hope that Tanjung Enim's potential as a tourist destination can be realized. PTBA wishes to foster the independence of the local community.

"Through the Tourism City Team, PTBA attempts to make Tanjung Enim a tourist destination by developing coal museum, Mini Zoo and Jogging Track, Waterpark, pedestrians, and soon a Botanical Garden," Yuhendri remarked at the event's opening.

The success of PTBA in converting the mine into a tourist destination can be seen in Sawahlunto, West Sumatra. Many people assumed that Sawahlunto would become a ghost town after the PTBA coal mine was no longer operating.

However, because of PTBA's efforts in preparing Sawahlunto to become a tourist destination, the city is once again bustling. Tourists from various regions now visit Sawahlunto City.

"PTBA is an SOE that must give benefits for the local community. I hope that by attending this workshop, participants will be more creative and active in exploring existing tourism potential and promoting it on their respective social media," he added.

Papang Arpa, a cultural observer and Tanjung Enim Community Leader, also welcomed this activity. He encouraged young people to become more involved in discovering local culture, which has the potential to support tourism.

According to him, many local arts, like reog, single guitar, antan delapan, and others, continue to develop and have great potential, but not all have been explored in depth.

"Everyone has a role to play in supporting Tanjung Enim's program to become a tourist destination city." It can be started from the family level by keeping the environment clean, it will definitely contribute to the development of Tanjung Enim as a tourist destination," he emphasized.
