The first train to pass was KA 3032 KA Babaranjang from Tanjung Enim Baru to Tarahan via the upstream route.
"Currently, the railway line between Gunung Megang and Pangiran is gradually returning to normal after the upstream and downstream routes were completed on March 9. After normalization, the upstream route can currently be traversed at 60 km/h and the downstream route at 40 km/h," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Divre III Palembang, Aida Suryanti.
The speed will then be increased gradually if the track improvements have been completed according to the specified speed standards.
Now that the railway line between Gunung Megang and Penanggiran has been restored, PTBA coal shipments from Tanjung Enim can return to normal. PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Corporate Secretary Niko Chandra thanked PT KAI and all parties who contributed to expediting the repairs.
"We continue to work with PT KAI and other relevant stakeholders to expedite the route's repair and ensure that coal distribution can proceed in accordance with the target," said Niko.
Furthermore, the downstream route on the road plot will continue to undergo normalization and repair. PT KAI ensures that the evacuation procedure proceeds and goes smoothly.
