To achieve its vision of becoming a world-class energy company that cares about the environment, PTBA is undergoing a transformation in all aspects, including through business diversification that aligns with the transition towards clean and environmentally friendly energy in a sustainable manner.
The company has built a solar power plant at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), which was completely operational in October 2020. The solar power plant, which has a maximum capacity of 241 kilowatt-peak (kWp), is located at the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) building.
PTBA also collaborated with Jasa Marga Group to develop solar power plant on toll roads. The solar power plant with a capacity of 400 kWp on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road had been constructed and began operating on September 21, 2022.
PTBA is also committed to supporting government policies that encourage coal downstreaming. Collaboration with various parties was established to increase coal added value. This includes collaboration with different universities and the National Research & Innovation Agency (BRIN). It is envisaged that through numerous collaborations and research and development, innovation and diversification opportunities with economies of scale consideration would be established, enabling coal downstreaming to be realized.
As a member of the MIND ID Group, PTBA continues to strengthen its role in ensuring national energy security. This is evident by the increase in PTBA's coal supply for domestic needs, particularly electricity. PTBA's coal Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) realization for 2023 was 21.4 million tonnes. Previously, DMO from PTBA was realized at 14.1 million tons in 2020, 16.1 million tons in 2021, and 19.2 million tons in 2022.

The continuous transformation allows PTBA to achieve positive performance. In 2023, the company achieved a revenue of IDR 38.5 trillion and a net profit of IDR 6.1 trillion.
"The transformation that has been carried out by the Ministry of BUMN will further strengthen our resilient in the future. This will be our platform within BUMN to become superior and more competitive in facing challenges. This allows us to maintain consistency in our support for economic development and community welfare," he said.
