Bukit Asam Marching Band’s Achievement at National Championship

Bukit Asam Marching Band’s Achievement at National Championship Muara Enim, November 30, 2022 - Bukit Asam Marching Band (MBBA) won several competitions at the Indonesian Drum Corps Championship (IDCC), national largest and most prestigious marching band competition, which was held on 25-27 November 2022 at the Youth Center Sport Arcamanik Bandung by the Indonesian Drum Corps Associaton (IDCA) in collaboration with Drum Corps International (DCI) America.

MBBA participated in four types of competition to the final round and successfully achieved three titles. Fostered by the Sports and Arts Association of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PORSIBA), MBBA has made PTBA and Muara Enim Regency very proud with the following achievements:

- First Place National Individual Drum Set by KMS Pradarta Kamandhanu
- Second Place National Individual Pits Instrument by Nadila Devani
- Third Place National Individual Percussion by Akhsen Pangestu
- Top 4 National Brass Ensemble by the Bukit Asam Marching Band

PORSIBA Chairman, Satria Wirawan expressed his gratification to MBAA. "Thank you for your determination. Keep practicing and improving yourselves and aiming achievements to the international level," he proudly said to the coaches and MBAA personnel.

Muara Enim Regency Indonesian Drum Band Association (PDBI) Chairman as well as PORSIBA Arts Coordinator, Iko Gusman, also gave appreciation for MBBA achievements.

“Muara Enim has qualified and highly competitive individuals as those of other regions and big cities. With the help, support and guidance from PTBA, we are certain that more achievements to come in marching bands or drumbands to make not only Muara Enim proud, but also South Sumatra," said Iko.

MBBA Chairman, Julius P Hutasoit, who was supporting the MBBA team throughout the competition, stated that these achievements were the result of long process and would drive MBBA to achieve even more in the future. "The result would never betray its process," he said.

This activity is the 5th IDCC event presenting professional judges from DCI United States of America for Sound Spot Competition, Drumline Battle, Street Parade and Individual Contest competitions for the Elementary Class, Senior Class and Challenge Class categories to compete for cash prizes with a total value of Rp500 million.

The participants came throughout Indonesia, including the Bukit Asam Marching Band (MBBA), Pupuk Kaltim Bontang Marching Band, Locomotive Marching Band (PT KAI), Nawala Marching Band (PT Pos), PUSRI Marching Band, Hairul Imam Marching Band Medan, Gita Pakuan Marching Band, UPN Marching Band, and several others.
